The conflicts can be religious in nature. Though often the true nature of the war is for the benefit of a smaller number of the nation, who use religion as a rhetoric device to control the majority. Species are often at odds within themselves. My species underwent great turmoil between my people, the G'arrunn or Green Martians, and the A'ashenn, or White Martians, for example. But battles between humans can often be as intense as wars between different planets entirely.
And yet they are also capable of acts of kindness and culture that can leave me speechless. They are truly a species of extremes.
They are a strange species, but then again, all are alien to others. I imagine you would have just as many questions and confusion if you were to live on Mars.
Indeed it is. And that I, an orphaned stranger from another world, could find family amongst the Earthling is one reason I know that for all their flaws, they are worth protecting.
I am sincerely glad you see things that way. Many visitors from other worlds struggle to see the wonder of Earth and its people. I am most fortunate to have the chance to experience so much of it.
